BethLevel 2 Stylist & Colourist
Hairdressing is a huge part of my life. From starting out at 16 years old when I first worked alongside Paul here at Material, to recently returning from working in and managing a spa on a cruise ship sailing around the Caribbean I like to to develop myself all the time. I had a great grounding in hairdressing at Material and it only seems like yesterday I was learning to shampoo! From those first steps I have won national hairdressing competitions using my creativity and love of fashion to predict future hair trends. Sassoon training courses in London helped me to excel in precision cutting and finishing and to meet other hairdressers from around the world. Now I have added global knowledge and experience, my passion for hair continues to develop and I am super excited to share my understanding of your needs, the style you desire and a truly personal plan of haircare advice and routines that suit you. I am a full service stylist and will take you through each and every step of your journey to self hair love!
Abi Level 3 Stylist & Wella Master Colour Expert
I’m a people person. Enthusiastic, creative and always willing to learn. I feel a strong connection to hairdressing that started when I first worked in salons aged 14. Qualifying as a stylist really started my journey and that’s when I moved to Material. Through our salon Director Paul I’ve elevated my craft; I bring precision, refinement and personalisation to my haircuts. Colour is my true passion and I am one of only 2% of hairstylists in the UK to achieve the coveted title of Wella Master Colour Expert. I believe a cut looks naked without colour so you can trust me to create something perfectly balanced, tailored to your face shape, bone structure, skin & eye tones. As a Master Colour Expert I spend time in London attending new product launches, colour seminars and trend releases. If you want to update your look with the latest techniques and trends, or want to combine the new with your own sense of style then make a reservation with me!
Paul Salon Director & Stylist
‘A labourer uses the hand. A craftsman uses the head and hand. An artist uses
the hand, head and heart.’ If that’s the case I’m an artist, and hair is my material.
Shape and form inspire me, form follows function is my approach. I worked and taught in Vidal Sassoon salons & schools. I was Creative Director of Mahogany’s London Academy and I’ve travelled the world sharing my knowledge and skills, presenting at the biggest global industry events like Salon International, Cosmoprof and Cosmobella. All that knowledge and experience flows through my hands when I’m working with your hair. Whether we’re creating something precise, sharp and tailored or casual, loose and soft, everything relies on creating a lasting structure that will be wearable and easily recreated by you. I have a reputation as a curly hair specialist and that comes down to understanding length, texture and shape, whether you want to expand your curls or control them. I’ll always recommend colour, even if it’s just a super shiny gloss, and I’ll work with you to put together a hair care plan to keep your hair looking amazing between visits to me!
