Shape and form inspire me, form follows function is my approach. I worked and taught in Vidal Sassoon salons & schools. I was Creative Director of Mahogany’s London Academy and I’ve travelled the world sharing my knowledge and skills, presenting at the biggest global industry events like Salon International, Cosmoprof and Cosmobella.
All that knowledge and experience flows through my hands when I’m working with your hair. Whether we’re creating something precise, sharp and tailored or casual, loose and soft, everything relies on creating a lasting structure that will be wearable and easily recreated by you.
I have a reputation as a curly hair specialist and that comes down to understanding length, texture and shape, whether you want to expand your curls or control them. I’ll always recommend colour, even if it’s just a super shiny gloss, and I’ll work with you to put together a hair care plan to keep your hair looking amazing between visits to me! Originally I’m a graphic design graduate but I decided my creativity was better suited to being behind the chair! I knew the best place to train was London so I left my native Cork to pursue a career in hair.
Joining London’s “original and best boutique salons”, situated in Shoreditch & Portobello, I was quickly promoted to head assistant, managing a team of nine apprentices, whilst learning my trade alongside some of the best stylists & colourists in London. Taken under the wing of one of the Wella Technicians I maximised every opportunity to learn my craft , including working on Primark’s Christmas campaign and shoots for Tank Magazine all culminating in winning first prize for the end of year Avant Garde show at the LHAA in Camden.
After being promoted to junior stylist I moved on to one of London’s newest salons as a stylist and again was quickly promoted to senior stylist. I built a loyal column of clients, then Pandemic struck and I decided on a better work life balance in the South West.
As a Hairdresser in Bath I’ve joined Material at level 3 stylist & colourist. I’m passionate about all aspects of hairdressing but I really love colour, probably the Graphic designer in me, and can’t wait to be working with Wella colour again. I’m friendly, open and always bring energy to my work. I’ll use all my design skills to completely personalise your cut and bespoke your colour.
