Keziah Furnival
Keziah FurnivalLevel 2 Stylist & Colourist
I was drawn to the hairdressing industry as it merges artistic expression with social skills and every day in the salon inspires my creative & sociable nature!
After 3 years of learning as an apprentice my journey culminated in winning an intracompany competition for my cut and colour work. My prize for winning was to spend time training at the world renowned Sassoon Academy in London. I love their clean and uncomplicated aesthetic and their approach to hairdressing has greatly inspired my own growth and progress.
I believe that looking and feeling good about your hair is a massive part of your holistic well-being and my goal as a stylist is to revitalise! Wether it’s the cut, colour, a good chat or all three you’ll leave with a wearable, suitable style designed to emphasise your features and personality.
I love dressing hair particularly chic, effortless wedding hair! Please ask me for details on how I can help on your big day.

I’ve always been enthusiastic, creative and willing to learn so hairdressing suits me down to the ground. I’ve worked in salons since the age of 14, steadily improving and developing my skills while working my way up to Stylist. I joined Material in July 2016 and during my first few months as part of the team Paul took time out to pass on some of his Sassoon knowledge, showing me sharp precision cutting skills.
I offer all aspects of cutting, colouring and styling hair-up, though if I had to choose I’d say that creative colouring and braiding are my favourite things to do: I feel you can be really expressive though fashion colours and, being a festival goer, I’ve had loads of practise creating fun, unique braiding styles which I’m now offering as a service at Material. I’m currently working towards my colour degree with Wella. I’m loving spending time at the Wella Studios in London and looking forward to becoming a Wella Master Colourist and sharing my knowledge with team!

I practice world-leading techniques of precision hairdressing. My haircuts are structured, often with strong lines, to create technically sound, classic shapes which I soften and loosen to be wearable in day to day life. I left a solid clientele in Bath behind when I was selected to train at Vidal Sassoon in my 20s. After passing the exacting final presentation, I went on to work in Sassoon salons and academies in London. As Creative Director of Mahogany Academy I travelled the world teaching, presented at ‘Salon International’ and ‘Cosmoprof’ and had my work published in industry magazines. More recently, I trained in hair loss at the Philip Kingsley Trichology Clinic to help our clients maintain a healthy scalp for healthy hair. In 2016 I completed the 365 business management programme. In 2017 I’m sitting on a ‘Trailblazers’ Committee – a group of employers responsible for setting apprenticeship standards in England. Material’s team is fully employed.
